The beginners classes will focus on basic foundations including; punching technique, footwork, combinations, rolling/ducking & slipping, defence work and intense physical & mental conditioning. This is also a great way to learn self-defence.
Amateur & Professional Boxing classes - (Beginners, Intermediate & Advanced classes) are also available which can also include controlled sparring for those that wish to take part.
A popular sport and known throughout the world. Whether you are an amateur or professional fighter you will attack and defend using your fists. Padded gloves are worn and the code set forth in the marquess of Queensberry rules are used in competitions. Matched in weight and ability, boxing competitors try to land blows hard and often with their fists, each attempting to avoid the blows of the opponent. A win in a boxing match is either by outscoring your opponent on points or by rendering your opponent incapable of continuing to
box. Competitions range from 3 to 12, 3 minute rounds.

Muay Thai is also known as "Thai Boxing". It’s a combat sport and originated from Thailand during the Medieval period as a form of hand-to-hand combat during war times. Muay Thai has been one of the fastest growing martial arts in the world and uses stand-up striking along with various clinching techniques. This discipline is known as the "art of eight limbs" as it is characterised by the combined use of fists, elbows, knees, and shins.
Muay Thai beginner classes will introduce you to the foundations which will include a variety of skills including, stance, walk, and weapons (punch, kick, knee & elbow). Another great art which can be used as self-defence and it will improve your physical fitness.

The class will focus on basic foundations for this stand-up combat sport that is based on kicking and punching. It is also a great way to learn self-defence, improve general fitness, or develop your ability in a contact sport.
You will use your energy, agility, and reflexes in kickboxing to outmanoeuvre and dominate your opponent over time. More ground fighting techniques were introduced and added In the 1990s which came from Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, it then continued to evolve and contributed to the development of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA). An excellent form of self-defence and ideal for fitness, strength and conditioning.
Historically, developed from karate and mixed with boxing, Kickboxing which is a Japanese hybrid martial art made up of punching and kicking. It evolved and developed by adapting fighting techniques from Karate, Muay Thai and western Boxing. It started in the late 1950s, followed by American Kick Boxing in the 1970’s. By 1974, its popularity in the United States resulted in the first World Championship being held by a Professional Karate Association.

We just keep it real, street and fun but with easy to learn techniques that doesn’t need you to be in great physical shape or have any previous experience. Self defence is a combination of specific techniques from other martial arts. This includes strikes and escapes; hand-speed from boxing, the range of kicks used from Muay Thai and Kick Boxing and the grappling holds and submissions of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

You will learn about postures which is a series of movements which will help to enhance your flexibility, strength, balance and breathing.
